When I gave Kit Kemp of Firmdale Hotels an exclusive preview of the design she requested a bespoke version for a room refurb at her Crosby Street Hotel in New York. For room 207 she envisaged how a scaled up version of Emily’s Garden would embue what is a quite a small, if well lit, room with romance and escapism.
So I ordered a special print run for Kit with the wallpaper enlarged so that one full repeat height would reach from floor to ceiling. It was great to see how well this worked!
Now guests are transported to our magical world, away from the hubbub of New York. Kit and her team schemed the rest of the room with soft, neutral tones that subtly frame the story told on the walls.
