Every fresco secco panel in this section is a one-of-a-kind original, made by hand in my Hastings studio. I build each piece from scratch: layers of plaster-like paste applied to open-weave hessian, painted with chalk washes and gestural brushwork, then distressed by hand to produce the cracks and worn-back surfaces that give the work its character. The finish is clear wax, hand-buffed to a lustre that saturates the pigment and protects the surface for a lifetime.
These are substantial, sculptural objects. Each panel is mounted flush to the wall on a solid wooden batten frame and arrives strung and ready to hang.
Because they are made by hand, dimensions are approximate and edges carry a natural irregularity that is part of the piece rather than a flaw. Due to their weight, panels are dispatched via specialist courier or DHL Express within 5 to 10 working days. As each fresco secco is a unique original, all sales are final.
