A lively gathering of Silvereyes, known by their Māori name tauhou, perched amidst a delicate branch of cherry blossom. Set against the deep, atmospheric blue of an Oceanian sky, these tiny citrus-yellow birds are captured in a chattering row of excited plumage.
I painted the original as a fresco secco, and the piece is rich with the characterful cracks and fissures of the plaster, mirroring the vibrant, restless energy of these native Pacific wanderers. The Giclée process meticulously preserves those subtle irregularities and the tactile depth of the hand-painted surface. Every nuance of the weathered ground is captured; the imperfect hand stays ever-present.
Due to its horizontal, elongated proportions, this piece is particularly well suited for placement above a doorway, sofa, or bed head.
Note: Your print is unframed. To ensure your print is versatile and gallery-ready, I have included the following:
A 5mm Image Overlap (Bleed): The design extends 5mm beyond the stated size. This ensures that if you place a mount over the top, the artwork is covered entirely with no white gaps.
A Professional White Border: Each print includes an additional 30mm–50mm white border on all sides. This gives you the flexibility to use a traditional card mount or to allow the paper itself to act as a contemporary framing device.
To ensure a perfect fit, I recommend waiting until your print arrives before purchasing or commissioning a custom frame, as very slight variations in paper size can occur during the Giclée printing process.
Dimensions:
Small: 60 x 21.5 cm (23.6" x 8.5") ~ Perfect for above a doorway or for a smaller mantel
Large: 92 x 33 cm (36.2" x 13") ~ Will suit above a sofa, bed, or larger over mantel
