Glimpses of Thyme is a scenic mural wallpaper that invites the viewer into a world of cultivated abundance. Originally hand-painted full-scale on paper for the Modern Muralist exhibition at Thyme, the design has been digitally translated to preserve every nuance of the original layered brushwork and distressed pentimento.
The composition follows a dual-vista narrative ~ one view following the gentle curves of the River Leach, the other a path through the estate’s vegetable garden. Framed by arching trees that act as theatrical "wings," the design is filled with small narrative discoveries: a watchful barn owl, foraging Cochin hens, and a quiet black sheep nestled among the late-summer harvest.
To emulate the tactile, hand-painted nature of the original artwork, the design is printed on a premium parchment-coated paper. This substrate offers a soft, matte finish that beautifully holds the crepuscular blues and warm harvest tones of the Cotswold landscape.
